white majesty

(in memoriam Kelwins O. Trujillo)

this morning could be like any other used to be in winter time
on the surface of a white land the weak sunlight is magnified

then giant snow flakes are falling whirling floating and rising up again
as a sudden breeze just as I wish gently starts to play with them

it is so lovely to see the white majesty cast upon land and spirit
but the cold captured inside this milky uniformity may turn out to be freezing

downtrodden feelings and emotions are hidden under the bright whiteness
and I'm incapable of seeing the full meaning of each individual flake that sparks then lands

a friend thinks the unfortunate ones land and immediately melt
I wonder if they are really the unfortunate?

at least they water the soil without hesitating
they arrive swiftly and quickly they do their ultimate duty

often we'd like to see them staying in white majesty for long
but there are powers in nature much mightier than we are

they know when it is right for the flakes to stay for days weeks or even months
and they know the time when the arriving snow should rather melt at once
